When most people think of Mexican muralists they think of Diego Rivera. However, I think of his rival, Orozco. It is a well known fact that the two hated each other. Orozco's work was heavily critical on social and political commentary. Some of his pieces which were completed in the early 1900s are still considered controversial today.
Orozco used a lot of symbolism in his work, often in overwhelming amounts. This piece in particular is plastered in symbols.
